BEGINNING MISSION - THE CALL TO SEEK THE TRIBES OF ISRAEL

The Bible speaks clearly and prophetically about the New Jerusalem, a heavenly city revealed in both the Book of Revelation and Ezekiel’s visions. Many of these prophecies have already been fulfilled, and others are unfolding in our time.

So why seek the Twelve Tribes of Israel today?

The Gates of the New Jerusalem

In Revelation 21:12–14, it is written: "It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel ... The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.”

This imagery connects directly to Ezekiel 48:31–34, where the gates of the city are also named after the tribes of Israel. The presence of these names shows that the identity and restoration of the Twelve Tribes is not just an Old Testament theme, but a part of God's eternal plan.

The Bible’s Prophecies About the Gathering of Israel

God’s promise to regather His people appears repeatedly throughout Scripture:

Zephaniah 3:20: “At that time I will gather you; at that time I will bring you home. I will give you honor and praise among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes before your very eyes,” says the Lord.

Isaiah 49:5-6 adds: “It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob... I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth.”

The New Jerusalem: A Heavenly City

Revelation 3:12 says: "I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God.”

Revelation 21:2 continues: “I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.”

This new Jerusalem is not just symbolic—it is a physical, divine reality that will replace the old, just as heaven and earth will be made new.

Is the Old Testament Just History?

Many see the Old Testament as only cultural or historical, but Jesus clarified its lasting significance:

Matthew 5:18-19: “Until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter will disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished...”

This shows that the Law, the Prophets, and their promises still stand, until all is fulfilled.

Are We Living in the Days of Noah?

Luke 17:22-27 reminds us: “Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man…”

People lived normally, unaware of the coming judgment, until the flood came. The comparison is a warning for our generation to stay awake and prepared.

My Personal Journey

I believe God is calling me to seek out the Twelve Tribes of Israel. This journey begins with a time of learning, about Jewish and Judaic culture and belief, in Thailand, where I plan to stay for about 6 months. From there, I will travel (as the Lord leads) to countries like Myanmar, Nepal, and eventually to Jerusalem itself.

This mission is deeply rooted in Scripture, including Luke 1:64, 72, 76–77, 79, where the coming of the Lord is closely tied to His covenant with Israel and the guiding of His people into peace.

I know this will not be an easy journey. But I trust that God knows where the Tribes are, and that He will lead me. It is a calling I must answer, even through trial, error, and learning along the way.

Prayer Requests

As I prepare to leave from Kuala Lumpur on September 17, 2007, I would appreciate your prayers for:

  • Financial provision
  • Accommodation in Thailand
  • A temporary job (perhaps in a church or business) to support myself
  • And most importantly: God's guidance and the fulfillment of this mission

I’ll meet my mother in Penang before heading to Thailand. If you’d like to reach out before 20 September 2007.

Thank you for your support, your prayers, and your love.

May God bless you richly.
