Praise the Lord as the Lord always our protection when we were travelling back to Malaysia and now in Singapore.
Before going into the report, I want to emphasize my previous emailed “What is the difference between spiritual and physical?” Let us read the Matthew 22 v 37 on the First and Greatest Commandment that Jesus had said. Many of us don’t put God, our creator in the first rather than placing God on the second and family come first. Never forget the God is our creator, without God, there is no plant, no oxygen, no food even no us (human) around. God is in the form of spiritual and not physical, not many people feel the presence of God, only the selected one that is chosen by God under God’s plan, these include most of the religion leaders such as reverends or pastors never feel it before as stated in the John 16 v 1 - 3 (verse 3 stated very clear). Coming to this day, many church leaders have a great plan for God on building bigger churches saying it is the vision from God, nevertheless you need to check their spiritual life beforehand whether it is from God or something else. What God really want us to do, it is not building the church bigger but building people spiritual life while getting close to the Lord…to love and to joy with our Great Father. After building the spiritual life, read Matthew 10 v 16 - we will be send to test on our faith level whether in working life (like Job being tested by satan) or family life (like Abraham almost killed his son) and etc . Now a day, the churches are like synagogues and the church pastor with deacons is like religion law with the pharisees.
We left Bangkok on April 20th, 2008, many brothers and sisters want me to stay back and continue the ministry while giving me lots of supports. But nevertheless, I need to obey the Lord’s order as I need to leave the place as the Lord have a great plan for me to do…I just know the word “OBEY” in my heart. Praise the Lord as every heart got touched, it is the Lord’s work and I don’t deserve any credit out of it and return to the God’s Glory.
When we came back to Kuala Lumpur, we went to Heritage Home (old folk home) that currently managed by my home church and it is a sudden surprised for the people around. The Lord asked me to pray for the people around, so I prayed for them. Some of the people got touched and one of the co-worker feel the presence of the Lord very strong, she kept on crying non-stop when I pray for her. Amazing touch, again Praise the Lord!
As our church wedding was conducted in Bangkok and we registered our marriage in Shah Alam, State of Selangor, Malaysia. It had been a tough days for us as we were running all around to get our legal marriage certificate done in Malaysia. Marry with a foreigner is not easy, many procedures you need to go through but marry a local people, you just need a National ID is more than enough. My friends became our witness to our signing paper. The procedure is like that my wife need to get the marital status from the Registration Office, then must translate to English while endorsed by Department of Consular Affairs and second endorsed by the Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok. When we back to Kuala Lumpur, we need to get another endorsement from Royal Thai Embassy, then we need to get another endorsement from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and finally Headquarter National Registration Department in Putrajaya to give her a green light. At last, we are legally registered in my home state. As our love is so strong, we prepare to pay for the price for it as Jesus had paid our great price our huge sins. Thank you Jesus!
We left to Singapore on May 3rd, 2008 and staying in mission house as now I am typing this email. We feel more relax here as not much meeting around and we had been touring around.
Our flight to Chennai (formerly known as Madras), India is confirm today (May 5th, 2008) around 10pm from Singapore Changi Airport. When we reached there in India, I might face some internet difficulties as India is still quite backward country without WiFi and I might delay my report to you.
Talk about mission, I met a few missionary (foreigners) in Thailand and lately I found out that only 1% is Christians out of 84 million population. There are many Christian institutions in Thailand, if not mistake about 50 over institutions and started since 30 years ago. Read Matthew 9 v 37 - 38 as harvest is so great but the co-workers is so few. What happen to the missionary in Thailand? One of missionary told me that we do it consistency otherwise we fall and still studying Thai language for two years, another one studying for three years, helping out the church. As for me, I was in Thailand for 4 months since January 2008 after my short mission in India and I never go to school and study Thai language…but just learn to obey the Lord and amazing things happen in the short time. My great disappointment when I met this missionary person (more than 10 years) who is interested to make money from the contributors and claim to do church planting. The Lord will be judge for everything and Praise His Almighty Name.
Before I end this April 2008 report, May the Lord enrich the readers and Bless to be the Day. Halleluyah!
Blessing,
Pastor Steve Peter H S Kok and Sister Jenny Kok
